Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting operations of a non-profit organization. This position ensures that financial policies, procedures, and controls are in place and followed, and that the organization's financial statements are accurate and timely. The position supervises the accounts payables and receivables team.

  • Salary: $80,000.00 base salary
  • We allow our employees to work both in the office and from their home. This is a hybrid position.

How you will make a difference:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
  2. Oversee and coordinate the preparation of the organization's financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow.
  3. Prepare and upload various journal entries pertaining to areas of oversight
  4. Prepare general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations pertaining to areas of oversight
  5. Close the monthly financials
  6. Approve electronic and check payments
  7. Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  8. Work with Director of Finance with the budgeting framework, process and analysis
  9. Inventory and workers compensation analysis
  10. Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the organization's management and board of directors.
  11. Manage the organization's cash flow and cash analysis, oversight of billing and receivables.
  12. Work with Director of Finance in the annual audit process and preparation of the organization's annual 990 filing.
  13. Ensure compliance with grant and contract requirements, and maintain accurate records of all grants and contracts.
  14. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  15. Provide financial analysis and support to the organization's management team and board of directors.

What you will bring to Opportunity Partners:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent degree.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience
  • 1–3-year management experience preferred.
