Job Summary:

The Donor Relations & Event Manager is the primary manager for Opportunity Partners annual fundraising and special events. Working closely with donors and leaders across the organization, this role will work both independently and collaboratively to prioritize, organize, and move projects forward. Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement and collaborating with the Communications team, this hybrid position will raise visibility and build a culture of philanthropy through fundraising, stewardship/recognition and special events.

  • Schedule: Hybrid work schedule: three days in the office and two days from home
  • Wage: $68,000.00 salary

How will you make a difference?

Donor Relations: Responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of the organization’s annual giving campaign.

  1. Cultivate, solicit, acknowledge, and steward donors by providing outstanding customer service.
  2. Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on compelling donor appeals and strategic communications.
  3. Manage development mailings and solicitations, working with external vendors.
  4. Supervise Development Coordinator, providing leadership and vision.
  5. Oversee the management of the donor database to ensure donor data integrity and security.
  6. Provide ongoing coaching to ensure team members are meeting expectations and are recognized for achievements.
  7. Demonstrate supportive leadership on volunteer management.
  8. Generate donor reports and lists to support Advancement initiatives; analyze and report on development outcomes for effectiveness and planning.

Event Management: Manage the annual fundraising gala and other special events with high-level insight, detailed planning, budget management, cross-department collaboration, and event analysis.

  1. Research and manage event revenue, including sponsorships, live and silent auctions, raffle, and fund-a-need
  2. Monitor, manage, and collaborate on event checklists and timelines
  3. Primary contact for event vendors: auction technology, event venue, caterers, AV company, and decor
  4. Supervise the Development Coordinator on special event planning, promotion and execution
  5. Work closely with Graphic Designer on all gala collateral material
  6. Work in partnership with Marketing & Communications on event materials, promotion, and execution.

What will you bring to Opportunity Partners?

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience in fundraising and special events, with a strong understanding of donor cultivation process
  • Office 365 proficiency
